September 29th, 2007 kimcoming soon…

Sara and Matt were heating Arlington up this evening! They didn’t need any direction to start kissing…more to come soon.

Ahhh…finally a moment to really post. First, thank you to Sheryl and Mike for allowing us to photograph such a beautiful day. I was able to finish their slide show this week and after watching it a few times, I just felt like there was something very special about this one. You wouldn’t think I would get choked up after working on a wedding for countless hours, but there’s something about a slide show that always gets me. This one in particular was just filled with glowing happiness and an incredible amount of emotion. One of the things that I really loved about Sheryl and Mike was their 100% trust in us that we would get the shots. They just enjoyed the day, enjoyed being married to each other, and put their faith in us…and we’re thankful for that because it makes a big difference.
Their wedding took place at the Thomas Birkby House in Leesburg. The air was crisp and I’ve never seen such a blue sky. It was just gorgeous. Sheryl put a lot of time and love into the details for her guests and it showed! Thanks so much for such a fantastic day and congrats to you both!!

I was a little nervous when Katie first told me she had 11 bridesmaids, but after really getting to know Katie and her awesome friends, I can see why she has so many wonderful people that surround her. This was our first time to St. Michaels, Maryland and certainly not our last. It’s such a cute area and we had a terrific time! The ceremony took place overlooking the water at Peter’s parents’ gorgeous home. Gorgeous is an understatement. The cocktail hour and reception were held at The Oaks, just a ways down the street. Thanks for letting us be a part of your spectacular day. We hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon!

My favorite picture. Aren’t they so lovely?

She’s a ROCK STAR!

Hello… is anyone still here? It’s been a nutty August with lots of traveling, some technical issues, and lots and lots of orders! I know there’s been a gap on my blog posts, but stay tuned for some really awesome weddings this fall! I promise I won’t disappoint.
I am out of town to shoot a fabulous wedding for an amazing couple and I will return on Monday. Have a terrific weekend!!
Until then, here are 8 uninteresting facts about me! I’ve been TAGGED by Kim Reed, another fantastic photographer. Photographers have been playing a game of blog tag, and I’m it!
1. I’m half Vietnamese and a mixture of a million other things. Unfortunately, I don’t speak Vietnamese, but I do speak Spanish! We’re planning a trip to Vietnam in February and I hope to learn a few conversational lines before we go.
2. I’m a wimp when it comes to roller coasters or any other thrill rides. I did once ride Space Mountain in Disneyland and I played dead the entire way through, hoping I’d wake up alive.
3. I love good tea!! Oolongs and green teas are my favorite.
4. I have big hands and big feet. I wear heels whenever I can and I look plain ridiculous in jeans with tennis shoes.
5. My two favorite foods are cheesesteaks and pulled pork barbeque sandwiches (especially from Pierce’s in Lightfoot, VA).
6. I have an incredible sweet tooth. A couple times a week, I’ll make 2am runs to the gas station across the street for a 3 Musketeers or Skor Bar. When I was 7, I ate an entire bottle of some delicious Flinstones vitamins in one day and they had to take me to the hospital.
7. I don’t get drunk easily unless it’s tequila. It’s the strangest thing and my brother can testify that he has the same “problem”. If I do get tipsy, it may last no longer than 15 minutes. I’m an expensive date!
8. …and finally, I have two cockatiels and their names are Ping and Pixel. Ping rings like a telephone and can answer, too!
I’ve scoured my list of favorite blogs and it seems everyone is covered! If I missed ya, hit me up and I’ll tag ya right back!
