The Mullins Part 2
May 8th, 2009 kimAs I was finishing my edits on the Mullins’ sessions, I came across two of my favorites. I don’t know how I missed them on the first blog post.

As I was finishing my edits on the Mullins’ sessions, I came across two of my favorites. I don’t know how I missed them on the first blog post.

After having to postpone a couple of sessions due to unseasonably cold and rainy weekends, we hit the jackpot with yesterday’s weather. The light was golden and I couldn’t have dreamed of better conditions…or subjects. We met Kara and Sean at Jennifer and Christian’s wedding in November down in Williamsburg. Luck would have it that Kara and Sean live just around the corner from us! Photographing their boys was was such a hoot. You wouldn’t believe what funny sayings Liam comes up with. I think Trevor may have added to his collection….something about a dog in the water. You had to be there (wink). I quickly found out that Jack does not like to be followed by the paparazzi and he has no trouble telling you, but I know he doesn’t think I’m so bad because he ended the session with a big lovable hug! Thanks for a great day at the park!

I really loved this moment!

After Liam jumped on dad’s back

Sitting is out of the question…so they run!

A great moment with Sean and Liam

Trevor is coaching them to walk around the corner, holding hands. As you can tell by Jack’s position, he’s ready to book it!
Meet little Auggie. He’s not ours. I’m still very pregnant, but not for long! Staci was terrific. Not even expecting to be in any pictures, she gladly posed with him and doesn’t she just exude beauty?

Last year, Trevor and I volunteered to photograph a wonderful series of community concerts called Broadlands Live. Most of our pictures were of the band and candid moments of the audience. This year, we’ve been invited back…but we have our own booth! Families can visit and we’ll take a family portrait or even just pictures of their children or pets. We had our first concert this past Friday and it was a blast. What could be better than to sit by the band, eating great vendor food, and taking pictures! July is going to be awesome!

We had the delight of photographing our old neighbors and friends, the Booths. The weather has been hot, hot, hot and just unpredictable. We finally got a bit of a break last night so we headed out to the park for a mini-shoot.

and his little brother. Happy 1 year!!

As I earlier announced last winter, Photos Unscripted is expanding, especially in family lifestyle photography. We’ve had a surge in demand to photograph families, so here it is! We’ll be photographing an entire day in May (most likely the 10th) and you’ll have the chance to sign up for a 30 minute mini session with us for a very small sitting fee. Your pictures will be posted soon after the shoot online where you’ll be able to share and order your pictures.
The big question is…how many of you are interested in this and could you make it on the 10th? It’s the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Please send me an e-mail, inquiry, or leave a message on my blog and if there’s enough responses….then it’s on! If you’d like our traditional approach, we still do have a couple dates left this spring.
With Mother’s Day approaching, I thought what better present for my mom than a picture of me and my brother so we got together yesterday for a mini shoot. Now before you look below, Trevor is not my brother! =) I won’t post the picture of the present in case for some reason my mom actually keeps up with my blog. Anyhow, it was the perfect opportunity to get a new picture of me and Trevor. It’s been a really long time that we had a real picture together – I think our wedding was the last time we had a formal picture taken. It’s ashame that we don’t do this more often. My brother kindly took this for us and it’s very special to me. What do you think…new bio pic?

We’ve been so EXCITED to see Jaymie and Audrey again…and even more excited to see the new addition to the Castro family, Addison! We met Jaymie and Audrey back in 2006 in New York City at a seminar. They were our “models” and we haven’t stopped talking about them since. I’m so flattered that they wanted us to photograph them during their trip to DC. Jaymie is also a wedding photographer in New York so that made me a tad nervous, but they’re both so fun and relaxed and it was a really great shoot! Jaymie’s been quite busy with the little one so he hasn’t updated his blog as often as he would like, but check it out.
It’s easy to see that these two are head over heels in love…and they’re squeezing in even more love for cute little Addi. Thanks so much you two for coming all the way out to see us!! We had such an awesome time seeing you guys again and we hope to meet up again soon. XO
The ballerina in a tutu I picked up for the shoot. She’s SO beautiful.

I had to add this one! Isn’t Audrey so photogenic?

Biggest smile of the day!
