It’s been the strangest couple of weeks since we returned from our trip on 3/20. Although I’ve had e-mails inquiring about our service, I haven’t received any actual inquiries through my website. I typically get a couple a day. I thought perhaps that people weren’t having weddings or my work sucks. Hopefully, it’s neither! Out of curiosity, I did a test today and sure enough, it landed in my junk folder along with the 1,000 spam messages that I receive daily (no exaggeration here). Because my junk box slows down all of my mail in Thunderbird, I’ve been throwing out the trash daily. I feel pretty sick that there are unanswered inquiries and I apologize if anyone has been waiting for me. Hopefully you’ll see this and submit a new inquiry. I would really appreciate that. Thanks a bunch!!!
Gosh, I really need to get some pictures on here! I just wanted to note that our mail has been down all morning so if you sent me anything before 2:00pm ET or submitted an inquiry, it bounced. I’m very sorry, but please feel free to resend it. Thanks for understanding.
I think this is the longest I’ve ever disappeared from my blog. It was a long, but amazing trip and I am going to try to post pictures and a recap soon. We have the worst case of jet lag that we have ever experienced. I know I have a load of e-mails and voice mails to catch up on, but I appreciate your patience as I work my way through them over the next couple of days. I hope everyone had a terrific Easter!!
If you’re interested in a spring children and/or family shoot, now is the time to book. Since we’ll be gone for the next few weeks, it will be difficult to do any scheduling during that time and when we return, it will be prime shootin’ time! If you want to schedule a time, please submit an inquiry through our website. Space is limited, but we will certainly try to accommodate as much as we can. I’ll be unveiling new products and specials soon!
I have a pretty good collection of bags – most of them cumbersome, too padded, uncomfortable, etc. = I probably bought them on sale. With our trip to Vietnam coming up, I need a good bag to be able to carry everyday. I went to a local camera shop yesterday and found the winner! I rarely rave about equipment or accessories, but for anyone who needs to travel with their equipment, I thought I should share my find. It’s called the Lowepro Slingshot 200AW. They really thought of EVERYTHING when creating this bag. I’m likely going to bring one body, 3 or 4 lenses, a flash, and a couple accessories. It will still allow enough room for other things I’ll need to carry. Accessing your camera couldn’t be easier, with just a quick sling around the front. It also has a rain cover built into the bottom. Most importantly, Trevor is comfortable wearing it. =)

On a side note, thank you to everyone that wished me a happy birthday! I’m so overwhelmed by all e-mails, phone calls, tms, ims, etc. It was a reallllly awesome day for me!!
I just wanted to send a warm birthday wish to Photos Unscripted’s better half. Trevor is a second-shooter, an amazing assistant, lighting and gear specialist, tech-support, moral supporter, and everything in between when it comes to our photography business. He’s my husband, my hero, my rock, my biggest fan, and my best friend. Needless to say, he’s everything to me. Thanks for your love. Happiest of birthdays to you!!
Always,
Your wife

This picture from 2004 is a special one to me. It’s even before I ever dreamed of a photography business. Since before the start of Photos Unscripted, Trevor’s always been a huge support in every way. Here he is in the freezing cold, happily carrying my tripod.
People often say to me, “your camera takes amazing pictures…the colors really pop”. Well, I’ve been lying to them. I’ll admit that I absolutely love my camera (Canon 5D) and good lenses. While they produce beautiful images, some can use an extra “umph” to make them shine and sparkle. I polish my favorites through a little bit of photoshop, but I never try to overdo it. Brides are supposed to look like themselves, not mannequins. Anyhow, here is a mild example. With a little bit brightening and using the burn tool, you can easily make the sky show up!

Wishing everyone lots of love today and everyday! XOXO

Although we won’t officially be leaving until March, I just wanted to post a courtesy out-of-office notice in advance. Trevor and I will be in Vietnam for most of March. It’s a trip that we have been anticipating for a very long time and we are finally making it happen. We’re so excited and I can’t wait to post many pictures I’ll be taking on our vacation. Between March 1-23, I won’t have access to my phone and e-mail will be very limited. More than likely, I’ll need to respond once we return.
One important thing I’d like to note is that all print orders need to be received by Friday, February 22 in order to receive them on time. Many of you know that almost everything that we do is in-house to ensure the best quality. Also, any album orders or slide show orders that have been fulfilled will be drop-shipped directly to you so that you while we’re away. Thanks for understanding and please feel free to contact us with any questions.
