The Mullins Part 2
May 8th, 2009 kimAs I was finishing my edits on the Mullins’ sessions, I came across two of my favorites. I don’t know how I missed them on the first blog post.

As I was finishing my edits on the Mullins’ sessions, I came across two of my favorites. I don’t know how I missed them on the first blog post.

After having to postpone a couple of sessions due to unseasonably cold and rainy weekends, we hit the jackpot with yesterday’s weather. The light was golden and I couldn’t have dreamed of better conditions…or subjects. We met Kara and Sean at Jennifer and Christian’s wedding in November down in Williamsburg. Luck would have it that Kara and Sean live just around the corner from us! Photographing their boys was was such a hoot. You wouldn’t believe what funny sayings Liam comes up with. I think Trevor may have added to his collection….something about a dog in the water. You had to be there (wink). I quickly found out that Jack does not like to be followed by the paparazzi and he has no trouble telling you, but I know he doesn’t think I’m so bad because he ended the session with a big lovable hug! Thanks for a great day at the park!

I really loved this moment!

After Liam jumped on dad’s back

Sitting is out of the question…so they run!

A great moment with Sean and Liam

Trevor is coaching them to walk around the corner, holding hands. As you can tell by Jack’s position, he’s ready to book it!
I know…what does it matter? I haven’t been posting much lately anyhow.
As you can see, we’ve been taking it easy these past months and although I miss weddings terribly, I’m glad that Trevor and I had this time to enjoy together and prepare for Baby Hawthorn. He’s officially due on Monday, the 23rd (sandwiched between Trevor’s 2/22 birthday and my 2/24 birthday). This could be interesting! Anyone that has been pregnant before knows how uncomfortable the last week is and so I’ll be resting, reading, waiting…oh, did I mention that I’ll be resting? I should still be e-mailing, but who knows when baby will make his debut so forgive me if it takes a moment to get back to you.
We are not accepting weddings this spring, but we are excited to continue and expand our family and baby coverage as soon as I’m back on my feet and ready to roll! I have a new website in the works and I’m really hoping to get that up not too long from now, but I’ll definitely post here when I do. So, thank you everyone for continuing to e-mail me and sending your wishes and love. We got nothing but love for ya, too! See you soon with pics of our new family!

Meet little Auggie. He’s not ours. I’m still very pregnant, but not for long! Staci was terrific. Not even expecting to be in any pictures, she gladly posed with him and doesn’t she just exude beauty?

Yesterday afternoon we had the privilege of photographing a newly-opened wine bar of one of our favorite past clients and friends. The Wine Kitchen is now open, right in the heart of old Leesburg at 7 S. King Street. It’s unlike ANYTHING in the area. I expected to shoot for about 30 minutes, but the warmness and relaxing atmosphere makes you want to stay there forever…and I did! Truly – you gotta go. It is the PERFECT date spot or even to catch up with friends. Heck, I’d drink by myself if I weren’t pregnant. Needless to say, we are so proud of Jason’s huge success!
Also, Staci and Jason expecting next month!! What a year for the Millers! Congrats on everything!
The fall edition of The Knot is out and one of my lovely couples was published! Congrats, Loren and Matt!

Trevor and I are back from our annual camping trip and a special trip to Amber and Sean’s wedding in San Diego! We’re playing some serious catch up on work and e-mail right now so I’ll be posting more pics later this week. If you’ve e-mailed me or called me in the past week, you can expect a response asap.
Thanks Kyle for taking this pic of us! We’re 18 weeks pregnant now!

Okay, I guess I’m really bad at keeping secrets. Within a few hours, people already had it figured out. Yes! We’re expecting and so excited! Unfortunately, I’m one of the chosen few that got the extreme end of morning sickness and I’m happy when I can just keep myself off the bathroom floor. Luckily, we intentionally didn’t schedule any weddings this fall so I’m just hangin’ back waiting for whatever happens next. We’ll definitely keep all of you updated and in the meanwhile, thanks for still visiting us here. I miss weddings SO SO much and I can’t wait to get back in the swing. Love you all!!
This has probably been the longest I’ve been away from my blog since it began…and with good reason. “New” things are happening here and it’s not necessarily photography-related. We’ll fill you in later. Until then, have an awesome summer!
Love,
Kim and Trevor
